Vanessa Williams becomes the iconic Miranda Priestly in a video teaser for her stage production of The Devil Wears Prada.

The 61-year-old star was cast in the musical, which features music from Elton John, earlier this year. Previews begin at the Theatre Royal Plymouth on July 6 with performances scheduled through August 17 before it opens in the West End’s Dominion Theatre in October.

Before she took the stage, the musical offered a first-glimpse at her in character on social media! Head inside to check out the first look at Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly… In the clip, shared on Instagram, Vanessa rises from underneath the stage wearing a floor-length red coat over her shoulders.

She opens it to reveal that the interior and her dress underneath are both bedazzled in sequins. Of course, the role of Miranda was first played by Meryl Streep in the 2006 movie, which also starred the likes of Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.
