An emotional Vanessa Feltz was in tears as she announced the news of the Queen's death live on TV. Vanessa, 60, was visibly overcome when she was presenting coverage on TalkTV when it was announced by Buckingham Palace that the Queen passed away today at the age of 96.The TV host read the statement from the Palace announcing the monarch’s sad death from a piece of paper, with her welling up and her voice shaking as she spoke.
Vanessa tearfully said: "It is 6.32, the day is the 8th September 2022 and I’m extremely sorry to have to bring you the exceptionally sad news that Her Majesty the Queen has died.” She emotionally added: "The news has been confirmed by Buckingham Palace.
Her Majesty was 96 years old and reigned for 70 years. News of her passing is reaching the rest of the world and she was monarch of more than 100 million people." The Queen – the longest-reigning monarch in British history – passed away today at the age of 96.
A statement from Buckingham Palace, which announced the devastating news, read: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon." Using Charles and Camilla's new titles, it continued: “The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.” Charles, who is now known as King Charles III, has shared a sombre statement following the announcement of his mother's death.
