Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (born July 22, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television producer. After appearing on the children's series Barney & Friends (2002–2004), she received wider recognition for her portrayal of Alex Russo on the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place, which aired from 2007 until 2012.

Gomez also starred in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Princess Protection Program (2009), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), and Monte Carlo (2011). Thereafter, she focused on more mature roles in Spring Breakers (2012), Getaway (2013), The Fundamentals of Caring (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019). She voices the character of Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise, and serves as an executive producer of the Netflix television drama series 13 Reasons Why (2017–present) and the Netflix documentary series Living Undocumented (2019).

As a shooting guard, Bryant entered the National Basketball Association (NBA) directly from high school, and played his entire 20-season professional career in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant won many accolades: five NBA championships, 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team, 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), two-time NBA Finals MVP winner. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, he led the NBA in scoring during two seasons, ranks fourth on the league's all-time regular season scoring and all-time postseason scoring lists.

Vanessa Bryant is keeping her late daughter’s memory alive and well. It’s difficult to believe it’s already been over four years since Gigi and her Los Angeles Lakers legend dad Kobe Bryant tragically died in a helicopter accident — but Wednesday would have marked her 18th birthday.

Vanessa remembered her in a touching post on Instagram, writing: Related: Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco Are Reportedly Talking Marriage & Having Kids! What a big year it would have been… Not to mention it’s also the same year as Kobe’s famous jersey number!

On Saturday, she announced that she and the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation hosted a basketball camp for youth in the local Los Angeles community in honor of Gigi’s 18th birthday.
