A van driver attempted to lure a six-year-old boy into his vehicle with sweets and drinks in a suspected attempted abduction, say police.
The man approached the boy and briefly spoke to him over a garden wall at a home in Lambeth, south London, at about 4.30pm last Thursday, a spokesperson for Scotland Yard said.
The boy, who was not harmed, ran back inside and alerted his mum after the man allegedly said he had sweets and drinks in his van.
By the time she came outside the man had left. The mother did not see a man or a van, said the Metropolitan Police, who have launched an attempted abduction investigation.
