'Utter waste of money': Plans for 189-metre ramp in new Stockport park met with frosty reception

Plans to install a 189-metre ‘spiral ramp’ at a new Stockport park have been met with a mixed reaction online - with some heavily criticising the proposals.

The ramp, which will connect the new park at the revamped Stockport Interchange to the River Mersey, has been branded as a ‘muggers' delight’.

Others have said it will be ‘open to misuse’ and become a magnet for anti-social behaviour. The TFGM customer director added: “The spiral ramp will not only be a striking structure to look at, but it will also provide a safe way for cyclists and pedestrians to reach the new park from ground level. What do you think?
