Plans to install a 189-metre ‘spiral ramp’ at a new Stockport park have been met with a mixed reaction online - with some heavily criticising the proposals.
The ramp, which will connect the new park at the revamped Stockport Interchange to the River Mersey, has been branded as a ‘muggers' delight’.
Others have said it will be ‘open to misuse’ and become a magnet for anti-social behaviour. READ MORE: Van with 'doors being held shut by screwdriver' taken off the roads The ramp will integrate into the ever-expanding Bee Network for cycling across Greater Manchester, transport chiefs say. “Stockport Interchange is a transformational project for the town, and these proposals will only enhance its potential as a truly state-of-the-art transport hub,” said Stephen Rhodes, unveiling the plans for consultation.
The TFGM customer director added: “The spiral ramp will not only be a striking structure to look at, but it will also provide a safe way for cyclists and pedestrians to reach the new park from ground level. What do you think?
