The owner of a dog sanctuary in Stockport has said that she will need a "Christmas miracle" to stop the rescue centre from closing and the dogs it supports being put down.

Ali Clark runs the Charkirk Dog Sanctuary, which currently has around 30 dogs in its care. However, the centre may now face closure after being served notice to leave its current premises.

Ali, 59, said she is "desperate" to raise £10,000 to cover the cost of kennel equipment and new premises. The sanctuary takes in dogs that have severe behavioural problems.

Of the roughly 30 dogs in the care of the sanctuary, 17 have been classed as "unrehomeable" meaning that they are very vulnerable.
