Ulrika Jonsson slams Alexandra Burke's choice not to share baby gender 'Attention seeking'

Loose Women and revealed she had chosen to keep her baby's name and gender a secret to protect them.The 34-year-old's decision has been slammed by Ulkrika Jonsson, 55, who said such a move will attract more attention.She said: "Announcing you’re pregnant and then shutting the door of access to your life for those who have hitherto cared about your journey, supported you or are just plain nosey, isn’t on."For me, it attracts far more attention than leaving the door ajar and letting people know you’ve had a girl or a boy."Maybe that was the point, says the cynic in me."Ulrika shared her thoughts in her column with The Sun, titled: "Alexandra Burke not revealing baby gender is just attention seeking… don’t play fame game if you want to protect kids."Strictly's Matt Goss opens up about 'very rare' health conditionShe went on to say she didn't understand how choosing to keep the gender private would compromise their child as she pointed out their baby will eventually be seen in public.

Ulrika likened the situation to her own experience with fame.The presenter came into the spotlight 34 years ago as a weather presenter before she moved on to host Gladiators.

The mother-of-four said she "learnt very quickly" that people would take an interest in her personal life and not just work."I always had a healthy understanding that I did not have the power to turn off the tap of fame just because I felt uncomfortable about aspects of my life," she added before going on to wish Alexandra luck with keeping things private.

The presenter went on to praise the new mum for her "personal tenacity, physical strength and ambition" and went on to congratulate her.The X Factor winner documented her pregnancy progress and birth on her Instagram.
