Anyone looking for a break from the UK's summer weather washout isn't going to get one any time soon, the BBC's weather forecast has revealed - with lashing rain and winds on the way.
In fact, the weather 'nightmare' is likely to persist for the entire weekend - with rain throughout Saturday and Sunday and even thunderstorms rolling in on Monday.
However, forecaster Chris Fawkes did have a small amount of good news to deliver too. Explaining why it's just so wet, he said: "We ended Friday with this band of rain moving in and this area of rain is actually going to develop into a whole new area of low pressure. "That's not just going to bringing some wet weather our way but also it'll be quite windy at times as we go through Saturday particularly for England and Wales." He explained that heavy rain would continue to bucket England and Wales, with downpours in Northern Ireland and a stubborn zone of rain moving into northern Scotland too.
Chris added that gusty winds of "up to the 30s of miles per hour" would cause temperatures to drop further yet as they whip across the country today (Saturday).
