Lockdown Britain is braced for a chilly week as the sunny weather disappears over the next few days. The country has enjoyed a glorious few days of sunshine since the coronavirus lockdown was imposed on Monday.
But temperatures were set to plummet overnight on Saturday to as low as -4C and cloudier, more unsettled weather will take hold next week.
Temperatures by day on Sunday will struggle to reach double digits, with a keen northeasterly wind making it feel colder. There will be a risk of hail and snow along eastern coasts and inland, although these will become more confined to high ground in the north later in the day.
