More heavy snow and icy weather will blight Britain as a bitter January cold snap continues. Bands of snow, sleet and rain will sweep southwards across England and Wales on Friday.
Temperatures could plunge as low as -10C in Scotland, and be comfortably below freezing in most of the country. And the wintry weather comes as forecasters fear another Beast from the East - when freezing air from Siberia changes direction and heads to the UK - is on the cards.
Today, Met Office weather warnings are in place for large swathes of the country. Snow and ice warnings are in place for all of England and Wales, bar London and parts of the South East, until midnight.
