Brits are braced for a weekend washout with heavy rain and gales today, as the countdown to Christmas continues with hopes for snow.
Forecasters have not ruled out the possibility of a white Christmas as some areas in the country could experience bone chilling temperatures.
But before then, another day of heavy rain is forecast, according to the Met Office. The meteorologist said: "It will be a wet start of the day on Sunday. "That rain will quickly move its way eastwards turning heavy as we head through the day. "Most places will see a spell of heavy rain for a time.
