Brits are set to be battered by 60mph gusts next week as a "vortex of wind and rain" crashes into the UK. Winds of up to 60mph and three inches of rain are due from stormy weather on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, with gales continuing into half-term next week.
Washouts are due on each day, with 50mph gusts in the West from Monday, 60mph in the South from Wednesday and more widespread gales from Saturday.
Met Office forecasters said the weather would be “yuck.” Floods threaten with three inches of rain forecast over the next week in the Midlands, two inches in the South and an inch in the North - with Scotland due settling snow on high ground.
