The UK looks set to once again blister under scorching temperatures as forecasters predict the return of a second heatwave just weeks after the country recorded its hottest ever day with a high of 40.3°C last Tuesday 19 July.
The latest predictions, which come from forecasters at the US National Centres for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), suggest that August will once again see the return of skyrocketing temperatures, with highs of upwards of 40°C expected for a second time.
According to the long range forecast, these high temperatures will hit Greater London and parts of Eastern England some time next month, with two forecasts predicting the scorching temperatures.
The calculations are based on a composite of 31 forecasts overall, with some experts warning that it may not be entirely accurate due to the small percentage, however, the organisation did successfully forecast July’s recent heatwave.
