UK coronavirus hospital death toll up by 10 as Scotland reports first fatality in a week

The UK's  coronavirus  hospital death toll has increased by ten, as Scotland reports a fatality for the first time in a week.

NHS England reported seven deaths, Scotland one, and Northern Ireland confirmed two new fatalities. Wales reported no new deaths in the past 24 hours.

On recent Wednesdays, the hospital death toll has increased by 12 on August 26, 16 on August 19, 11 on August 12, 15 on August 5, 19 on July 29 and 11 on July 22.

August 12 was the lowest increase on a Wednesday since the lockdown was imposed. The highest total on a Wednesday was 936 on April 8 when the UK was in the peak of its outbreak.
