Emma Lavelle was a passenger in the vehicle when the incident happened in Eccles in the early hours of April 11. The 30-year-old says she noticed her Uber driver driving towards the Bridgewater Canal and told him to stop.
But the driver allegedly ignored her pleas and turned left, driving the car straight into the water. He later told police he had been following his satnav just off Worsley Road.
Emma, a transport manager from Eccles, says she managed to get out of the vehicle and was told to walk the rest of the journey.
