direct to your inboxA student has thanked a homeless man and an Uber driver who joined forces to chase down a phone thief.Victoria Thiele, aged 23, was taking part in the ‘50 Windows of Creativity’ exhibition and had stopped on Deansgate to check the app on her phone to find where the next artwork was.As she did so, her phone was snatched from her hand by a boy on a bicycle.Miss Thiele, a journalism student at Manchester Metropolitan University, immediately ran after the thief shouting: “Stop the man, he has my phone”.Nearby, a homeless man heard the commotion and joined Miss Thiele as they tried to chase the cyclist.Then, an Uber driver also pulled up alongside the pair who explained what had happened, and he gestured for them to get in.
