Tyson Fury's heavyweight title defence against Dillian Whyte is finally going ahead, with Friday's purse bids bringing an end to a lengthy negotiation saga.
Those bids had been pushed back on no fewer than four occasions, amid continued speculation that Anthony Joshua would step-aside from his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk.
However, that proposal soon collapsed and a record-breaking purse bid from Frank Warren bringing a close to negotiations. The fight between Fury and Whyte is expected to take place towards the end of April, with Cardiff's Principality Stadium the favourite to be the venue.
That will be the final hurdle for Fury before a heavyweight unification bout against the winner of Joshua's rematch with Usyk, which would undoubtedly be the biggest fight of his career.
