Police investigating the Halloween riots in Dundee have made two more arrests. Cops were called to the Kirkton area of the city as youths blockaded roads with bonfires and hurled fireworks at cars and terrified locals.

A force helicopter hovered overhead as officers in riot gear moved in to disperse aggressors after they torched wheelie bins.

A teenager was arrested and charged last night, with another reported to the Procurator Fiscal, and on Friday morning Police Scotland confirmed that a further two arrests had been made.

A 28-year-old woman and a 15-year-old male youth have been charged with "mobbing and rioting" offences. Along with the 16-year-old male, the pair are due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today in connection with the incident, which prompted supermarkets in the city to withdraw fireworks from sale.
