A Paisley street remains closed this morning following a serious assault.Emergency services personnel raced to Maxwellton Street in the west end of the town around 5.40pm on Sunday.Dozens of police vehicles were in attendance alongside the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.A police cordon was set up and remains in place with Maxwellton Street still closed between Maxwellton Road and Gordon Street.Local diversions are in place while detectives continue their enquiries.One source, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Paisley Daily Express: "The place was swarming with police.
