Two men appear in court after death of dad in Bury collision as trial date set

Two men have appeared in court in connection with the death of a dad following a collision in Bury. Gavin Andrews, aged 34, died while crossing the road when he was hit by a car on Walmersley Road, near the Towler Inn pub on November 9 2021, an inquest has previously heard.

Today, January 5, Faizaan Haider and Suaiel Haider appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court in connection with his death. 23-year-old Faizaan Haider is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving with no licence, and committing an act intending to pervert the court of justice, namely setting fire to a BMW 6 Series. No pleas were entered at the short hearing, and the case was adjourned to February 13. A provisional trial date has been set for March 17 next year, estimated to last between seven and eight days.
