Catherine Tyldesley and Shayne Ward will be returning for two more series of The Good Ship Murder, it has been confirmed. Shayne, 38, and, Catherine 40 previously played star-crossed lovers Aidan Connor and Eva Price on Coronation Street, and fans of the pair will get to see them on screens again as they reprise their roles on The Good Ship Murder, with Catherine playing First Officer Kate Woods, and Shayne portraying former detective Jack Grayling.
The show is set aboard a luxury cruise ship, but as a string of murders occur, Cath and Shayne's characters set out to solve them.The first episode from the eight-part series will be premiering on Channel 5 at 9pm on Friday 13th October.
Claire Sweeney, who is currently starring in Coronation Street, will return as the cruise director, whilst Hollyoaks' Ross Adams will also have a role.
The Sun reports that Mike Benson, from makers Clapperboard, said: “Series one was something of a journey – or mid-price cruise – into the unknown, not least trying to film a drama on a cruise ship with 6,000 holidaymakers heading to eight different countries.” C5 exec Paul Testar added: “We’re excited to be bringing this series back.” As news emerged that The Good Ship Murder is coming back, fans couldn't contain their excitement, as they rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment.
