That gal-guy back and forth was what was also at the heart of the original 1996 Twister movie starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. “You think you can interrupt a tornado,” Powell’s cowboy tornado chaser asks Edgar-Jones’ city girl. “In theory,” she answers, “in the field and in the moment, I got it wrong.
