The worldwide box office hit Twister has announced a release date for the long-awaited sequel titled Twisters, which is set to come out in the summer of 2024.Universal Pictures announced this week that the theatrical release will be on July 19, 2024.The film has been in the works since 2020 and in October 2022, it was announced that the writer of 2015's The Revenant, Mark L.
Smith, would be writing the script for the film. 28 years later: The sequel to the 1996 film Twister will be released in theaters on July 19, 2024 and it will be titled Twisters The sequel: Helen Hunt previously said that she hoped to make the sequel herself and even wrote a script, but the studio didn't want to move forward with itPeople Magazine previously confirmed that Universal and Amblin Entertainment are working on the film.
Frank Marshall, who produced Jurassic World Dominion, will be producing and Lee Issac Chung, who directed A24's Minari, will direct.
Twisters will be co-financed by Warner Bros. Pictures as well as Universal Pictures.The original Twister starred Helen Hunt and the late Bill Paxton.
