Begum made the arduous journey from London to Syria in February 2015, with two other school pals from Bethnal Green Academy.
The trio were friends and were studious straight-A students. Their lives then took a drastically different course altogether.
As the Mirror reports, Ms Begum was just 15 years old when she ditched her family to join Islamic State ISIS setting out on a path that would ultimately see her stripped of her British citizenship and living in a detention camp in Syria.
