Two leading supermarkets have issued an urgent recall on certain cough syrups over contamination fears, with customers being advised to check their medicine cabinets.

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has published a Class 2 medicines recall notice for four specific products which could be contaminated.

This includes: Tesco Health Dry Cough Relief 200ml, Asda Strong Dry Tickly Cough 200ml, Almus Dry Cough Relief, and Bells Dual Action Dry Cough.

These batches were distributed between September 2022 and November of the same year, raising concerns that they may have been bought by consumers and left sitting in their cupboards.
