James Gavin 'preyed' on a young boy in the 1970s while the youngster was staying at foster homes and at a children's home in Rochdale.
He was described by police after his conviction as a 'twisted and manipulative predator'. Gavin, who lived on College Bank in Rochdale town centre, was 82 when he was jailed in July, 2018.
A court heard he had access to the boy's records through his role as a social worker. Gavin's victim bravely came forward to police in 2015 to report the abuse he suffered as a boy.
