Turkish hearthrob Can Yaman to play the pirate ‘Sandokan’ in new TV show

The series will be adapted by the European production company Lux Vide and is based on the stories written by Emilio Salgari.

The story is set in the mid 19th century on the island of Borneo, with the adaptation having a strong “environmental angle,” according to Variety.
