A TUI flight took off from Manchester Airport then turned around moments later due to a 'minor technical matter'. The TOM156 flight took off for Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic as scheduled at around 10.40am this morning (April 19).
But shortly after take-off, the flight was diverted back. Flight maps showed it got as far as above the Oldham area before it returned.

The airline apologised as they said an 'alternative' aircraft would be found. In a statement, a spokesperson for TUI said: "We can confirm that this morning (Friday 19 April) TOM156 departed Manchester Airport for Punta Cana International Airport but returned to departure airport shortly after take-off due to a minor technical matter. "Passengers have disembarked the plane and an alternative airplane will be sourced.
