A heavy goods vehicle has crashed on a Fife road after the car it was transporting toppled off its roof. Police Scotland officers were called to the scene of the smash in the town of Cardenden.Photos show the aftermath of the incident, with a blue car flipped completely on its side and lying metres away from the vehicle on which it was being transported. The car's bumper appears to have suffered significant damage, although it is unclear whether this was due to a previous incident. The passenger window on the left hand side of the car is also missing. The heavy goods vehicle is parked stationary in the background, and appears to have been carrying at least two other motors at the time of the dramatic incident.Another image shows the strap which was used to anchor the car overhead looking strained and frayed.Cops said that the straps used to tie the motor to the heavy goods vehicle were worn and poorly secured. They added that no other motors had been near or behind the heavy goods vehicle while it was in transit, but warned that if they were, 'things could have been much worse'.The driver of the goods vehicle was reported to the Crown Prosecution Service. The Traffic Commissioner was notified of the event, too.
