Troon in 13 years as manager in two stints.Now the old favourite is back at Portland Park but this time insisting his dugout days are behind him as he takes up a role on the club committee.Redmond lifted Troon from the doldrums of the Ayrshire Second Division when he was appointed in 1993 leading them to two titles and six South Ayrshire Cups before being controversially axed in 2002.He answered an SOS to return six years later but was recently on the committee of Darvel before getting the call to return to his first love.Now Redmond is helping to drive plans for a social evening to mark Troon’s 75th anniversary.The event will take place in the social club on Friday, November 12 at 7.30pm when a good turnout of former players, ex-committee.
