Tributes paid to 'most genuine' Scots teen after tree fell on car during Storm Eowyn

A Scots teen who died after a tree fell on a car during Storm Eowyn has been named locally. Calum Carmichael's blue Ford Focus was struck by a tree on the B743 Ayr Road near Mauchline at 6.45am on Friday, January 24 while he was on his way to work.The 19-year-old was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, but tragically died on Saturday.

Tributes poured in for the popular teen from friends and family after the news of his tragic death.Sister-in-law Yaz Hodge led tributes to the beloved teenager, saying: "No words can ever describe how our family feel.

These past two days have been the worst moments of our lives. "We are in what can only be described as a never ending nightmare and all we want to do is to wake up and have our beautiful boy safe, well and present by our sides."Calum, we love you so much and we promise to take care of each other and try to stay strong for you.

I will forever be grateful for the 14 years I had with you and will treasure all our amazing memories together. "How lucky I was to gain the best brother a sister in law could ever ask for.
