Tributes have been paid to a "lovely" young biker who was found dead nine hours after police were alerted to a crash via an automated text.
Darrel Sturgeon, 21, was discovered by officers off the B741, near Straiton in Ayrshire, at around 7.35am on Thursday.Police had been alerted by an automated message from a mobile phone about a crash at the Cloyntie Toll Bridge area of the town at around 10.18pm on Wednesday.
Following the devastating news tributes have been paid to Darrel, who was described as "always polite and full of chat". His heartbroken sister, Abbie Sturgeon, led the tributes on social media.
Sharing a link to a news story about Darrel's passing, she wrote: “Hug your siblings a little tighter tonight”, followed by a broken heart emoji.Stacey Mcauley said: “I recently have got to know Darrel through my daughter - and what a lovely, polite young man he was.
