Abigail Lee The Tribeca Festival has formed a new partnership with Onassis ONX and Agog: The Immersive Media Institute this year for its program highlighting immersive art projects.
The immersive program is part of the larger Tribeca Festival, which returns June 4 to June 15. Tribeca will present a ticketed exhibit of immersive pieces hosted by Water Street Projects at WSA throughout the festival.
For the 2025 program, which will consist of invite-only projects, Tribeca will consider a range of media forms, such as virtual reality, immersive audio and 3D filmmaking. “As an artist, trying something new, something experimental requires a great deal of risk-taking, which is why Tribeca has supported artists in the immersive space for the past 14 years,” Jane Rosenthal, Tribeca Enterprises CEO and co-founder, said in a statement. “As Tribeca continues to invest in the future of immersive and embrace it as an art form, we know we can make an even greater impact by partnering with organizations such as Onassis ONX and Agog.
Through this collaborative, big tent approach, we look forward to championing artists who are stepping out into the unknown.” Onassis ONX serves as the exhibit’s co-curator and co-producer.
