The trial of a boy and a girl accused of the murder of transgender 16-year-old Brianna Ghey has been put back until November.
The two accused, a 15-year-old boy and a girl aged 16, who cannot be named because of their ages, were scheduled to go on trial in July at Liverpool Crown Court.
But at a hearing at the same court today (Friday) before Mrs Justice Yip, a new trial date was set for November 27, which will now take place at Manchester Crown Court and is estimated to last up to three weeks.
The 50-minute hearing on Friday dealt with issues which cannot be reported ahead of the trial. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community Both defendants were charged following the death of Brianna, from Birchwood in Warrington, Cheshire, who was found with fatal stab wounds on a path in Culcheth Linear Park shortly after 3pm on Saturday February 11.
