Trevor Sinclair has been taken off the air by talkSPORT after a tweet following the Queen ’s death caused outrage in some quarters.
After news of Elizabeth II’s passing was announced, the former Queens Park Rangers, West Ham and Manchester City star sought to make a point about the lack of action he perceives has been taken in order to tackle racism.
He tweeted: "Racism was outlawed in England in the 60’s & its been allowed to thrive so why should black & brown mourn!! #queen." The prompted a backlash on social media and the tweet was deleted.
It also appears that the ex-England international has deleted his social media accounts. TalkSPORT confirmed earlier today that they were investigating, and the 49-year-old has since been taken off the airwaves pending the broadcaster’s findings.
