Travellers are being warned to expect disruption for a third day as foggy conditions continue to affect flights. Thick fog arrived on Boxing Day, leading to delays and cancellations at airports across the country, including in Manchester.
Disruption continued on Friday, with air traffic restrictions imposed on a number of UK airports. Murky conditions are expected across Greater Manchester today (December 28), with some areas set for periods of thick fog again.
In an update issued this morning, Manchester Airport confirmed restrictions remain in place. Passengers are advised to check the latest updates on their flights before travelling. At the moment though it’s not causing any disruption." A spokesperson for Nats, the UK’s main air traffic control provider, said on Friday: “Due to widespread fog, temporary air traffic restrictions are in place at several airports across the UK today.
