Metrolink services are buckling under the heat once again as Greater Manchester continues to bask in sunshine. Services have been cancelled this afternoon (August 13) between Bury and Crumpsall, in north Manchester.
Trams were cancelled shortly before 1.30pm today. Metrolink says the disruption is 'due to high temperatures', and customers can use their tram tickets on a number of local bus services instead.
In a post on Twitter, a spokesperson for Manchester Metrolink wrote: "Due to high temperatures, there are currently no services between Crumpsall and Bury.
Tickets can be used on bus services 59, 66, 135, 524, 90 95, 97 98. READ MORE: Air ambulance lands and emergency services scramble as woman 'falls into stream' "Sorry for any inconvenience caused." It is not the first time Metrolink services have been severely disrupted during the recent heatwave.
