A mum-of-three was discharged from hospital with "flu" the day before she suffered an unsurvivable heart attack as healthcare professionals missed their third opportunity to investigate red flags for meningitis, an inquest has heard.
Joanne Charlton, 48, was struck down with severe pain in her neck, head, and upper back that left her screaming in agony on several occasions in January 2019.
After five days of pain, a call to 111 that saw North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) send a rapid response vehicle to her home address in Little Hulton, and an out-of-hours home visit from a GP in the early hours of the morning, Joanne was finally taken to A&E by paramedics, before being discharged just a few hours later.
