Tragic girl, 13, 'with huge smile' found dead in bed after telling mum one detail

The death of 'Funny and bubbly' Bethany Tricia Brown, 13, left her family heartbroken when she passed away unexpectedly on the morning of March 20, 2024.Bethany had taken to bed with a stomach bug before emergency crews arrived at the family home in Skelmersdale, East Lancashire after her older sister Victoria, 29, found her unresponsive in bed, the Mirror reports.
An inquest heard she had been found under her quilt with her her thumb resting on her lip as if she had been sucking it.In the days before she died, Bethany had stayed off school as she was complaining of feeling unwell and had been vomiting.
On Tuesday March 19, Victoria visited the house and Bethany had her dinner in the kitchen.At 2am the 13-year-old went to her mum Phillipa's room, saying "Mum, I feel really sick", reports Lancs Live.
Phillipa asked if she wanted to stay in her room, but Bethany returned to her own bedroom.Victoria came back the next morning to go shopping with her mum and made the tragic discovery when she went to check on her sister.
