She knew whatever he needed to tell her was serious. Amanda called him back and he immediately picked up. “She’s gone,” he said.

Her little sister, Anne-Marie, had died after going to bed with intense period pains. She was just 39. “For about 20 minutes, I solid cried,” Amanda told the Manchester Evening News. “I’ve never cried that hard before. “This is the worst pain and I never want to feel pain like this ever again.” Anne-Marie passed away after complaining of abdominal pain on the evening of August 18.
