The family of a "one in a million" British man has launched a wrongful death lawsuit against a Las Vegas hotel after they say he was left alone to die.

William Howell, a 37-year-old type 1 diabetic, fell seriously ill while preparing to board his Virgin flight back to London from Harry Reid International Airport on August 30, 2023.

But he was allowed to return to his hotel alone and tragically was later found dead. Now, his wife and two young sons - one of whom was not yet born when he died - are taking legal action against the renowned Aria Casino Hotel in Sin City, its security team, and the ambulance company along with its crew.

In Nevada, such cases can result in settlements amounting to millions of dollars if proven. The lawsuit details how Mr Howell's flight was delayed as medical help was sought and he was placed in a wheelchair as a precautionary measure.
