Tragedy as woman found dead in Greater Manchester field

A woman has tragically died in a Greater Manchester field. Officers are in attendance on Audenshaw Ponderosa, known locally as Paddy Walk, in Audenshaw, Tameside, this morning (December 3).

Police were called out to the scene at around 7.40am today. Paramedics were also in attendance. Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family have been informed. Greater Manchester Police says there are not thought to have been any suspicious circumstances. A section of Audenshaw Ponderosa has been taped off. A green forensic tent is also in place at the scene. A GMP spokesman said: "At around 7.40am this morning, emergency services responded to a concern for welfare in the Audenshaw area. "Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
