Police have launched an urgent probe after an eight-year-old boy tragically died after being shot by a gun in his head and face on a farm.
Emergency services scrambled to a farm in the Warcop, Cumbria at 2.50pm on September 28 after reports a child had been seriously injured by a gun.
The eight-year-old boy was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after suffering "serious and life-threatening injuries to his head and face." Sadly the boy died overnight and local cops have arrested a man in his 60s at the scene on suspicion of assault grievous bodily harm (GBH).
He remains in custody, and is now under arrest on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter following the boy's death.A Cumbria Police spokesperson said: "Police and NWAS [North West Ambulance Service] attended.
