Tragedy as elderly couple killed as they walked home from Christmas carol service

A couple aged in their 80s were tragically killed after they were hit by a car as they walked home together from a Christmas carol service, it was reported today.

A man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after the incident just days before Christmas in High Kelling, Norfolk, police said.

The incident unfolded at around 4.20pm on Sunday. The couple were returning from a church carol service when they were struck by a white BMW Mini One on the A148 at the junction with Avenue Road, reports The Mirror.

Sadly, they were pronounced dead at the scene. Norfolk Police said a man aged in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and taken into custody for questioning.
