Firefighters descended on a tower block in north Manchester after a fire broke out this morning. Crews were called to the blaze at a flat in Mossbrook Court, Collyhurst, shortly before 11.30am today (Wednesday).
Eyewitnesses reported seeing seven fire engines at the scene in Kentford Drive, along with police vehicles and an ambulance.
In a tweet, Harpurhey councillor Pat Karney described it as a 'major incident'. He said the fire broke out at a flat on the second floor of the building.
