But portraying the character of a mother on TV is "totally different" now that Sheridan has become a mum herself, she revealed at a press event for the series."Playing mums before I had Billy and playing mums now I've had Billy is totally different," the Love Soup star expressed.Sheridan went on to say that since welcoming Billy, she has become extremely protective over her firstborn.
And though this isn't the first time she's played a mum on TV, she's grasped a deeper connection to her character now that she has a child. "People have said you'll know, you can't understand the protectiveness and the fear when you have a child and Billy's not even two yet but I feel it," she added to press including Hello!.In the ITV series, Sheridan's character Kathy sees herself turned upside down when her teenage son Noah accepts an invite from his pal Rosie for a holiday trip to Turkey.
Shortly after his arrival, Noah is accused of sexually assaulting another boy as police perform an extensive investigation while trying to uncover the truth to the very serious accusation.Kathy and her husband Martin (Michael Jibson) are left fighting for their son's freedom against an arrest while tackling an expensive legal system, a heap of media coverage and the judgemental opinions of fellow holidaymakers.
Upon reading the script, the Priceless singer said she was overcome with anxiety, stressing it would be any parent's worst nightmare to find themselves in such a daunting situation.
