Tot attacked by several dogs fighting for life in hospital

A toddler who was attacked by several dogs has been moved to a hospital for specialist treatment where he fights for his life.

The child, aged two, was left critically injured in the incident, which occurred just after 11am on March 28. Police said that the boy was in a "critical but stable condition" and had been moved from Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester to Birmingham Children's Hospital last night, Birmingham Live writes.An officer also confirmed that three dogs had been removed from the property where the attack took place in Egdon, but have not released information on what type dogs they were.The dogs are said to have been "secured and are no further risk to the public".

They were also described yesterday as not believed to be breeds banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 . The boy's relatives began to transport him to hospital themselves from the remote countryside area where they live, but were told to stop and meet paramedics at Worcester Countryside Centre instead, on the advice of West Midlands Ambulance Service.The toddler was then transported from there to Worcestershire Royal Hospital by ambulance.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said "staff worked quickly to administer advanced trauma care to the patient at the scene and continued with treatment en-route to hospital”.
