Tory ministers have become embroiled in an unlikely spat with Ben and Jerry's after the ice cream maker accused the UK of showing a "lack of humanity" towards asylum seekers.
The UK arm of Ben & Jerry's angered ministers by condemning the Government over its handling of the influx of migrants arriving in the UK from France.
Home Office sources issued a frosty response to the comments, describing the brand as "overpriced junk food". More than 4,000 people are believed to have made the dangerous journey across the Channel in little boats so far this year.
Home Secretary Priti Patel has said that the number of "illegal" Channel crossings was "unacceptable" and vowed to make the route "unviable" for migrants.
