When he came up with the idea for a virtual pub quiz, Jay Flynn wanted to get a few friends and family together for a bit of fun.
But now his venture has raised more than £700,000 for charity, earned him a Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Award nomination and today sees him made an MBE.
Quite an achievement for someone who, at age 25, was homeless and slept on a bench in London. For almost two years he had little more than a sleeping bag.
Then in 2009 homeless charity Connection helped him get a crisis loan which led to a shared home. An online relationship took him to Darwen, near Blackburn, where he met wife, Sarah.
