There's only room for one name originating from England, as hugely popular names in the UK such as Olivia and Oliver don't get a look in.
For girls, the most popular European name in the world is Maria, a traditional Italian name most prevalent in Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries, thought to have been used more than 61 million times.
